Spectacular walls & whalesharks

Christmas Island boasts some of the best scuba diving trips in Australia and has some of the longest drop-offs in the world. The island rises dramatically from the edge of the Java Trench, the Indian Ocean’s deepest point. This contributes to the endless kilometers of spectacular drop-off diving with most walls being only 20 meters from the shoreline.  The Island is surrounded by a narrow tropical reef which plunges into a bottomless abyss.

Colorful coral gardens, captivating caves and caverns, and gorgeous grottos make Christmas Island a diverse divers paradise just waiting to be explored.

The pristine coral reefs support healthy populations of tropical fish species. Macro lovers can go searching for all sorts of colorful critters hiding in the corals. Pelagic like rainbow runner, trevally, wahoo and tuna cruise along the walls. Reef sharks including silkies, white-tips and grey sharks may come in closer for a curious look. 

You may even be graced by the presence of a gentle hammerhead, massive mola mola  or a majestic whaleshark.  An experience you’ll never forget!
